Fall Beanie Styling Guide With RELLA

September 21, 2016

All you endless summer lovers, I’m sorry to say that your favorite season is coming to an end. Here in NYC, beanie weather is on it’s way in, and finally one of my favorite fall accessories can come back out to play again. And less hair washing can once again ensue (hehe). I’m already reworking my wardrobe in celebration of fall, so I thought I’d show you guys a few fall styling ideas, featuring my new favorite knitted accessory brand, RELLA. As a grunge loving kid of the 90s, beanies are a nostalgic go-to for me. Like Nirvana. Plaid. Baby’s Sitters Club. Saved By the Bell. Butterfly hair clips. They make me feel warm and fuzzy deep down inside. Beanies give me this same feeling, but the thing is that they look good on just about anybody . . . and for some reason, every ensemble looks that much more cool with a beanie thrown on top. It’s like one of those types of people you see in the middle of July, rocking a beanie in the summer heat. You know they are only wearing it because it looks good. But now, it’s actually a practical thing to wear that entails no traces of head sweat.

So here we go, look one. Modern Day Sex in the City, Brooklyn version. I love a black beanie with an all-black outfit, because it’s effortless and flattering. But of course, I make room with a good pop of color. It’s the perfect weekend look for meeting up with my girlfriends at a local Williamsburg spot (pumpkin spiced IPA’s anyone?) The simple slim-fitting slip dress will be on heavy rotation this fall, but so will my RELLA STUD beanie.

I literally just took all my sweaters out from hiding underneath my bed. They were calling my name out in the middle of the nigh last night, so I knew it was time. I’ve missed them so much! Look two. The City Escape. A good knit and a matching beanie is a must to go along with some beat up denim. Classic, simple and reliably warm, with room enough for added finishing touches like a crazy pair of patterned boots. The timeless pom pom beanie, like the “Bea” style by RELLA, is basically an autumn collector’s item. This look is coming with me to a weekend road trip upstate for apple picking, pumpkin pie and haunted hay rides. I’m the biggest autumn nerd, so it’s hard for me to curb my enthusiasm for beanies and upstate cabin weekends.
