L’Oreal Paris x Allure at CVS

April 13, 2016

L’Oreal Paris is doing exclusive events in NYC with Allure this Saturday, April 16th, from 11am – 2pm at CVS in Astoria, Queens (31-01 Ditmars Boulevard) and CVS in Manhattan (241 West 57th Street). Come swing by for a day of mind blowing beauty and fun. A L’Oreal Paris makeup artist and hairstylist will be there to help you find a new makeup routine or hairstyle that works for you. Plus, there will be a bunch of complimentary samples so you can test out new products to find the right ones that suit your needs.

As a kid I grew up experimenting with my mom’s L’Oreal Paris makeup, and even up until this day the brand has always had a place in my makeup bag. Two things have never changed, despite the brand going through many evolutions . . . it’s always reliable and effortless to use, which are my main reasons for loving the brand so much. And all without breaking the bank, as well. Quality beauty products should always be accessible. I used all L’Oreal Paris products to create this natural, everyday beauty look featured in this post that has recently become my go-to. Dewy and fresh, with a hint of natural, barely there color on the eye and a heavy brow. Nowadays, it’s all about skin and the eyes for me. But never anything too heavy, of course. So now go head to CVS and get on the L’Oreal Paris bandwagon. There will be no going back, and your face is going to love you 🙂

L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition SPF 30 Facial Oil
This oil goes on weightlessly, absorbing into my skin and instantly making it feel extra moisturized without feeling greasy.

L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Skin Illuminator
It evens out my skin tone and illuminates in all the right places. I like to add extra around my eyes and cheekbones to highlight.

L’Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup
I love that this makeup comes in so many different tones, so it’s easy to mix and match for the perfect shade. Thankfully for me, Natural Beige works for my skin tone exactly. It smoothes on soft and I can easily blend it with my finger to achieve full coverage that looks natural and not heavy at all. It actually makes my skin feel healthier!

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Mono Eyeshadow
I apply it with my fingers and it glides on like a cream that can be built upon to achieve the color you want. I love how it feels on.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss
It goes on feeling creamy, but ends up not looking super shiny. And never makes my lips feel dry. It’s the most well balanced lip gloss I’ve tried!

L’Oreal Paris Butterfly Sculpt Mascara
The shape of this brush makes it super easy to apply and be super detail-oriented. I love that the bristles just line one side, like a comb. It was easy to see which lashes I was applying the most mascara to.

L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner
My hair is very long and prone to dryness from past bleaching and sun exposure. This shampoo and conditioner together work like a charm to bring my hair back to life with super moisturizing oils after it starts to feel dull.

Talk With Your Lips

January 20, 2016

When it comes to lipstick, I am very particular. The exact shade. The way it glides on. The stickiness of it. Do I need to moisturize beforehand? How often do I have to reapply? I’ve been wearing the same go-to red lip color for the past year, but I thought it was about time that I see what else is out there to keep my options open for different sorts of situations. Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme (SHOP HERE) just fell into my hands one day. And I wanted to see what Marc’s beauty was all about anyways. This creamy red (called 202-Goddess) was the first red I tried on from his collection, and it was an instantaneous match made in heaven. It was more poppy and bright than my normal reds, especially in the light. But in the shade, it seemed more rusty, which I liked. The best of both worlds 🙂 Lipstick with multiple undertones that work in your favor are keepers. So now, say hello to my new red color for this winter season. Look who’s talking now. Smooch smooch. Love you all 🙂

The Evolution of Smooth Holiday 2015

December 7, 2015

Dry, chapped lips during the winter season seems totally unavoidable, especially in NYC’s bitter cold. But it can be easily avoided. I keep my reliable EOS lip balm in my purse in the pursuit of lush, moisturized lips on the daily. The EOS balm is so simple and gets right to the issue. 100% natural. 95% organic. Rich in Shea Butter and Vitamin E. You really feel your lips protected after just one application. On top of being a reliable source of nourishment and love for my lips, I love how fun they make things with their packaging and presentation each season. For the holidays, EOS is letting you do the decorating, and the result is dazzling! I think it’s the little kid in me that still gets a kick out of the sparkly stuff. Each EOS Holiday 2015 Limited Edition Decorative Lip Balm Collection comes with lovely little jewel art stickers that can be applied to the outside of your EOS lip balm in any way you please. Who doesn’t love personalization? Such a fun stocking stuffer for friends and the kids in the family during the holidays, too! Now tell me, who are you going to kiss under the mistletoe this year? Cheesy, I know, but I just had to say it.

My New Beauty Essentials

December 2, 2015
The beauty department is a tough one because there are so many options out there! Walking into Sephora for me is nearing an experience similar to something like a heart attack. Obviously, I’m far more a fashion blogger than a beauty blogger. I love makeup though, don’t get me wrong. I just prefer to keep things simple. And when I find a product that really works for me, I hold onto it for dear life. Until the day it stops being produced. Of course, sometimes a few new ones slip into the mix. I always remind myself that new is a good thing because routine needs a little freshening up every now and then. That’s just life in general 🙂
This brand is straight up all about pure simplicity, and that’s why I love it. It’s a new brand to me, and introduced by a friend, and I’m totally on board. This face stick is so easy for throwing into your bag and using for quick touch ups on the go. It goes on sheer but still has just the right amount of coverage that you don’t need to worry about having to use an extra layer of concealer. Au natural.
Glossier Boy Brow // SHOP HERE

There was so much hype about this one on social media that I just had to give it a try! Especially since my eyebrows is the number one thing I focus on when putting my makeup on in the morning. Let me tell you, this little baby is a magical dream boat for those obsessed with their eyebrows like me. I have yet to find a product that gives me that full texture and added depth to my brows like Boy Brow I seriously can’t go a day without it.
Glossier Soothing Face Mist // SHOP HERE

Back to back meetings, shooting on the street in crazy weather or editing in front of a computer screen all day can be harsh on one’s skin. I never usually rely on a face mist to perk up my glow during the day, but after trying just a spray of this one by Glossier I was hooked. What a difference it makes when you can cool down your face, close your eyes and smell some rose water that smells homemade. It’s an uplifter for sure!
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner // SHOP HERE

I’ve been going less harsh on the eyeliner this season, and skipping out on my usual black for something more off beat. This amber liner is an unexpected alternative that really stands out despite it’s softer tone. It’s just enough color to highlight my eye shape and bring out the golds in my eye color. I like to think that it hits the light in a refreshing new way. Whatever it is that is happening, I’m all for it with this one. Maybe next time I’ll be in a purple or green eyeliner phase!
