Oh, London! How I miss your daily rain showers and afternoon tea! Let me tell you, when it’s raining outside, all you want to do is spend an afternoon inside drinking tea (and champagne). Natalie‘s and my stay at the famous Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair, an upscale part of London, was more than divine. The hotel is over 200 years old, and it has history as epic as it’s wallpaper. During WWI, many aristocrats sought refuge at this very hotel. Imagining the people who came in and out of this hotel in the past 200 years drops by jaw. It was a pleasure to be able to call this place home for our last two night’s in London. Our chic London experience was made even more chic with Jo Malone, of course. The brand is a revolutionary in the fragrance world, and just about everyone knows the name and has at least one favorite scent. Our first night at Claridge’s ended with a nice, long bath in the picturesque tub. The bubbles were the fanciest bubbles I’ve ever experienced! Right before bed, I lathered myself with Jo Malone body cream in Wood Sage & Sea Salt. It’s my favorite body cream in the world. My mom’s, too! I always make sure to gift her a jar on her birthday and Mother’s Day. It makes any woman feel fantastic right before a night of rest. We slept peacefully that night, to be woken early by our alarms so as not to miss our morning massages at the hotel, which was one of the most relaxing events of our entire London experience. London is quite a hectic city, and we fit so much in our itinerary the previous days that our bodies were aching for a magical touch.

We had breakfast waiting in our room before heading out to explore a little bit more of Mayfair all the way towards St. Jame’s Park. The weather was mildly warm and fabulous, which is rare for London. But, of course, it then changed its mind halfway through the afternoon with a heavy rain that brought us back to Claridge’s earlier than expected. But all was good, because it just gave us more time to explore the hallways of the hotel, say hello to guests coming in and out and just be generally fancy for no reason other than to be fancy. Plus, we had a 5pm afternoon tea waiting for us. So the timing was actually perfect. I had an amazing Chinese green tea with rhubarb syrup and it was one of the most delicious teas I’ve ever downed. Props to our waiter who recommended the syrup, it was so interesting to taste. Soooo, fully relaxed and our tummies filled with tasty finger sandwiches and sweet treats, we had a little less than an hour to get ready for the big Jo Malone “Talk of the Townhouse” party in Mayfair. There we rubbed shoulders with London socialites like Karen Elson and Poppy Delelvigne, as well as the best dressed in town. All fans of Jo Malone and fashion and everything creative. I felt so much creativity in the air amongst the crowd. You can just feel the vibrations not just from the bad ass tunes the DJs were spinning, but also the colors, patterns and shapes of dress that everyone adorned. I felt so much inspiration dancing and mingling all around me. And that is really what is my favorite part about coming to London. The energy, the quirkiness the rock and roll. And, of course, everything smelled fabulous because the party was lit with Jo Malone candles, which I obviously can’t live without.

I wore this lovely Ferragamo dress from a recent season. In a way, it felt a bit flamenco to me, so I threw on some bold earrings to match with the feeling. Perfect for the night, because the townhouse turned into a late night dance party, and everyone had moves to show off. It was such a fun way to spend our last night in London. With a fashionably scented bang. Thank you Jo Malone for having us as your guests all the way from over the pond. Natalie and I hope to be back soon! xx

Packing for SXSW with Cafe Bustelo

March 16, 2017

Getting ready to hit the road again this month, but this time Natalie and I aren’t going too far. Just back to one of our favorite American cities, Austin, Texas. We will be there to support Cafe Bustelo, who is one of the sponsors of the Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake from March 16-18th. This stage is one of the biggest stages at SXSW.

Cafe Bustelo activation hours:
 Thursday, March 16th: 4-10pm
Friday, March 17th: 4-10pm
Saturday, March 18th: 11am-7pm

For access to this stage, you just have to sign-up for a wrist band HERE.

Natalie and I will be hanging out at the Cafe Bustelo tent during SXSW on Friday, the 17th in the evening. Make sure to stop by during the above times March 16-18th to take advantage of the charging stations, free Cafe Bustelo samples, photo booth and tons of other games and giveaways. Nat and I will also be showing you our favorites from the bands performing that day at the Outdoor Stage. We’ll also be giving you a peek into our favorite things to do when we are in Austin, Texas. The food, the music, the people . . . SXSW is one of the most crazy and fun weeks in Austin, so get ready!

SXSW is probably the easiest music festival to pack for. Mostly because Austin is so chill, and the scene is much more laid back than Coachella. Not to mention, the weather is always reliably warm. It’s always sunny in Austin. Denim and lots more of denim. Easy little dresses under denim jackets. Western hats, why not?! Boots. Sunglasses are always key, of course. My trusty camera. Natalie and I are also packing our Cafe Bustelo for the road because we are always up early and to bed late during SXSW. There’s so much to see and do, it nearly seems impossible to fit everything in . . . but somehow we always manage to do so.

Hope to see some of you in Austin. Once again, sign-up HERE to get access to the SXSW Outdoor Stage. It’s going to be a good time, ya’ll.

Thank you to Cafe Bustelo for sponsoring this post.

Glamour Street Glam Experience

September 10, 2014
It’s nearing the end of NYFW and already I am feeling like I can hardly catch a break! I seriously think that I have only had like two actual sit down meals. NYFW has always been the one major week of where one sacrifices all the comforts of life for the sake of fashion. Literally running in heels. This past weekend I took a break from the hustle and bustle of NYFW to check out Glamour‘s Street Glam pop up experience at Chelsea Market in Manhattan. It was a three-day interactive NYFW styling experience open to the public for consumers to come in and check out some of the most beloved fashion, beauty, and retail brands, all of which work with Glamour. There were free facials being done by Philosophy, a virtual color contact studio from Air Optix, mini makeovers by Maybelline and dry hair styling by Garnier Fructis. Pampering to the max! Plus, there was a whole lot more, including sneak peeks at the latest handbags, watches and shoes. A few of my friends stopped by to check it out, and had a blast playing around with fake tattoos by accessory/handbag brand Follie Follie and discovering the new shoe collaboration between Gilt and Glamour. How amazing is that?
I loved that this event was open to the public, focusing on the more non-exclsuive side of NYFW and making fashion and beauty more accessible too ALL WOMEN. The concept is something I really stand for, so it was awesome to see it come to life here. Just because you weren’t actually invited to any fashion shows doesn’t mean you can’t take part in the festivities.

H&M Grand Opening with the Suarez Sisters // The Mall at Bay Plaza BRONX

August 12, 2014

This Thursday, August 14th, marks a super important day for H&M and NYC. My sister Natalie and I will be hosting the opening of H&M’s thirty-sixth store in New York State at The Mall at Bay Plaza in the Bronx. The store opens at noon and will allow customers in the Bronx access to the latest trends at the best prices.

This store opening is super exciting because The Mall at Bay Plaza will be the first enclosed fashion mall in New York City in almost forty years and will serve customers in the Bronx, Westchester and upper Manhattan.

The first five customers to tweet at me (@dylanasuarez) and @hm while waiting in line will win early access with style consultation and a free head to toe outfit courtesy of H&M!

H&M is a huge supporter of sustainable fashion and recycling. To kick off the store opening, H&M customers at The Mall at Bay Plaza can donate old and unwanted pieces of clothing from any brand while in the store. Customers will receive a voucher for 15% off their entire purchase for each bag of donated clothing. Those who bring garments to be recycled before the store opens at noon will also have the chance to win H&M gift cards valued between $50 and $100 in addition to receiving the 15% off voucher.

Not only that, H&M at The Mall at Bay Plaza will also offer the first 100 shoppers in line an H&M t-shirt and Access to Fashion Pass, valued from $10 to $300, in addition to other fantastic opening offers for the whole family!

H&M at The Mall at Bay Plaza is located at 200 Baychester Avenue, Bronx, NY 10175.

See you guys at noon on Thursday, August 14th in the Bronx!! We can’t wait!
