Sing Me A Neil Young Song

December 12, 2013
BB Dakota poncho, Gypsy Junkies pants, vintage Chanel backpack, Urban Outfitters hat, Alexandra Beth necklace, OK1984 cuff and matching ring, Vanessa Mooney silver cuff, Giles & Brother leather and gold-tone bracelets

I know that ya’ll must be super sick of seeing me in a hat so often lately. Sorry guys. It’s come to the point where it’s like my head just can’t function normally without one. It’s like a cupcake and frosting. You have to have both or it just doesn’t work. I took a rough and tumble morning of exploring the neighborhood back when I was home in California before Thanksgiving. Living in an old cowboy town has its perks. A whole lot of open space in all directions. And the feeling that you are the only person in the world. At least for a moment. Gosh, I’ve missed that feeling. Hippie vibes all the way man. That’s why I couldn’t help but throw on these rad tie dye pants from Gypsy Junkies. They are a swirl of psychedelic madness that makes just the act of walking around a randomly hidden field that much more grand. I’ll take it.

Now back to reality. I just finished up a 13 hour photo shoot day at work, and am just about to jump into another one tomorrow morning! Wish me luck. It’s been a crazy week and the weekend could’t come any sooner! xo

Lovers & Friends dress, Nasty Gal cardigan, H&M leather jacket, BC Footwear shoes, Urban Outfitters hat, Alexandra Beth necklace

I’m a layer player. What can I say? Not quite sure how I survived without this Nasty Gal cardigan in my life before. I’m a sucker for long lengths and working a little proportion play magic. A look from Cali. You never know how much you miss suburban valley living until you’ve been away from it for a year. It always feels good to be home.

Fancy Pants

Paige jeans, Otte sweater, Anthropologie coat, Natalie & Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice Chloe boots, vintage bag, Brixton hat

Just can’t stop putting a hat on my head lately. Nor jewels on my legs it seems. I’ve always been more of an all basic everything denim kind of gal, but playing on the wilder side of things is a lot of fun. Prints on denim can definitely be tricky though. It draws attention to the legs, and sometimes doesn’t flatter the stems at all or ends up coming across as too obnoxious. Paige denim always fits me like a glove, so I felt safe taking a risk with the print on this one. And I’m glad I did. On this particular day someone stopped me on the street to to ask where I was from, because from the looks of it, I wasn’t from New York City. I think it was all the color. Nice to know that I bring a little bit of west coast sunshine to the city, at least to some people.
