Home Style with Society 6

April 28, 2016

Society 6 is my new favorite online destination for a unique shopping experience. When I shop online, I’m usually looking for one-of-a-kind pieces to decorate my apartment with. Bold yet subtle statement pieces to bring to life the darker corners of my home space, or complement my already light-filled areas. It’s fun and therapeutic for me to freshen things up at home with art and decorative knick knacks for a new season. The same goes for changes with my mood. I want my environment to match my vibe. It’s spring and nearly summer, so color is everything I’m looking to put up on my walls. Society 6 makes it so easy for me to do so. And I love that the site focuses solely on supporting unknown artists, and that each sale goes directly to each artist to support their creative endeavors. It’s such a treat for me to look through the website. I got three new framed prints to add to my home. I’m very driven by nature and color, and I love the juxtaposition of the two, especially in the “Hello” and “Sea prints. But my favorite of them all is the “A certain kind of magic” print because it’s fashion taking a loop. Take a look here to see how I made them feel at home in my cozy Brooklyn space that is still a total work in progress!

Check out my curated collection of Society 6 products that I am drawn to, including the prints featured in this post. Maybe you will love them for your home, too. Or just have fun exploring the site and stumbling upon new artists and home decor pieces like rugs, duvet covers and even pillows. It’s inspiring to say the least! And there’s nothing more worth the time to invest in than your own home 🙂

Coachella 2015

April 9, 2015
You knew this was coming right?! My fourth Coachella in a row is literally right around the corner, and I couldn’t be more stoked. Despite the crowds, crazy drunk bros, spray tans and disgusting bathrooms, so many good memories have been made out in the desert in the past four years that I will never forget, and it’s time again to make more with new and old friends. Make sure to watch this space this upcoming weekend for a dose of some festival style guide posts and coverage of the festival. I’m going to try my hardest to keep you guys updated in real time, which means I most likely won’t be sleeping at all, but that’s okay. This is also the first year that you will be able to live stream the festival, as well, which is pretty awesome. Who are you excited to hear at Coachella? I’m all about Jack White, alt-J, SBTRKT, Angus & Julia Stone, ODESZA, Royal Blood, Flosstradamus, Azealia Banks, Flying Lotus, FKA TWIGS, Allah Lahs, Father John Misty, Vance Joy, RAC, MØ, aaaaaaannndddd Drake (obviously). But stumbling upon artists I’ve never listened to before and discovering new sounds are also some of the best things about going to a music festival. Everyone needs to go with open ears and no expectations, and this way you can be sure the experience will be rad.

See you all soon from the desert! xo

Introducing Alekka

November 6, 2014
My latest online shopping discovery . . . the wonderful Your one-stop destination for everything travel, lifestyle and accessorizing. Made for the “girl who favors the eclectic,” Alekka works hard to curate a collection of wearable accessories that are inspired by the wanderlust within us all. From original pieces sold in limited quantities to up-and-coming indie designers with a free-spirited aesthetic, Alekka has everything that embodies the love of travel, culture and design. I picked up this gorgeously colorful Grecian bowl (perfect for all my little rings and things), a Giles & Brother rose gold railroad spike ring, an Adornia zigzag ring, and a Lionette Byron Bay set of earrings that make me want to book a flight to somewhere in Brazil ASAP. These little delights are so lovely, I can’t stop wearing them! The certainly brighten up this gloomy and rainy Thursday 🙂
