Fitting Into Natural Spaces

January 24, 2021

These polaroids are some of my favorite photos that I took while in California for the holidays. Vasquez Rocks is one of the most beautiful places, and it happens to be just a few minutes drive from where we grew up in the valley. I love looking up the history of these natural geological structures that I find in California. The native people who lived here before the Spanish arrived were the Tataviam people. And Vasquez Rocks was named after a Mexican bandit. These instant photos really capture the colors of the high desert so beautifully. I’m literally so hypnotized by it, and so in awe of these natural structures still standing on our earth, that I had to find a way to fit into the natural space as a tribute to their beauty. So here they are.
