Delicate Touch

December 5, 2017

This post is in collaboration with JTV Jewelry. I was paid for this post and received JTV jewelry pieces as compensation.

I’ve been loving the JTV site for jewelry lately, because of all the hidden gems on the site and the really great prices. I had a lot of fun picking out a few styles for not just myself, but for my mom and sister for the holidays. I was surprised to find many classic pieces with an offbeat, edgy twist. They felt special. The rings I like to stack for a fun, party look. The oversized bracelet top off a floral dress. The earrings are small and sweet, but big in style. Each piece is feminine in its own way. Together, they make an eclectic and fashionable mix. Definitely meant for the holiday parties. Check out the brand’s Holiday Gift Guide, as well. But, here are the styles I’m wearing in this post:

Moda Al Massimo link bracelet from JTV

Moda Al Massimo gold hoop earrings from JTV

Emerald cut ring from JTV

Bella Luce® Esotica ring from JTV

Now tell me, which ones are your favorite?

In With The New

My vintage leopard coat has been in my closet since 2011. Purchased on one startling hot summer day from a man selling vintage out of his garage in Philadelphia the summer I moved there. One of the best $20 purchases I’ve ever made. But since then, it has lived about 25 different lives it seems. It came to the point that the last seam was just no longer worth fixing, so I decided to donate it, knowing that there was the potential that some new love could be injected into it. By then, it has seen enough of too many winters, from grimy dive bars in Philadelphia to horrible first dates in Brooklyn. It was time for the new to come in. Not that it was easy to part with the old one, all holed up pockets and all. But it’s good to let go sometimes. It’s called growing up, if you want to elevate the idea of getting rid of an old coat with lots of memories. But thank you 7 For All Mankind for allowing me to let go, and giving me a new faux fur leopard option to keep my winter retro vibes alive in the new year. There are new stories to be made. More beers to be cheered on those cold winter nights. More kisses to have but with a man I want to call mine forever. More blue, blue skies that will fortunately make up for the bite of winter’s cold. I might need a layer or two extra with this one, but the art of layering is one I know oh too well. I’ve got myself covered. Winter is mine.

Red is Not Dead

November 27, 2017

___

Rebecca Taylor sweater
Seafarer suede pants
River Island boots
Liebeskind backpack
2 Bandits earrings

I’m all about dressing like a confident woman more than ever now. I don’t know exactly what it is. Hitting 30 recently, I am in fact, officially a woman now. And creatively, I feel like my vision has come together into one that I trust deep down in my gut. It’s a feeling that I’ve strived to have when I was younger time and time again, but never fully reached it. I feel like I’ve finally come to a place where I’m extremely happy about where I am, where my strengths lay. Even the unknowns of the future keep me on the tips of my toes, and that lights a fire that isn’t one that is daunting and scary, but more freeing in a sense. A freedom of being open to the fact that I will be able to handle whatever comes my way in the years ahead with maturity and clear mindedness and a red hot passion. The color red is of course significant in this post. It’s less about the clothes and more about the feeling. It’s a color of desire, and man do I desire so many things in life. But at the same time, I am totally okay with the fact that I may never have them all. I’m more okay with knowing that what I do have is actually the greatest of them all. That’s what I wanted to get to here in this post. That desire to wrap your arms around what is exactly in front of you. No matter what shape or size or manner it comes in. The present has the greatest worth of all, so don’t leave it behind to quickly for the next thing. And now, I’m giving life back into my suede red pants because they make me feel like a confident woman. They shed light on my height, which I used to hunch over to hide. It took me years to start feeling like a bold, confident person. And here I am, so much closer to what I’ve dreamed of becoming that I ever thought I could be before. And because of that, I wear red.

Tommy Hilfiger at SAKS

November 24, 2017

___

All looks by Tommy Hilfiger, available at Saks 5th Avenue
___

Plaid and sequins. Who knew? The new Tommy Hilfiger collection is right on point when it comes to bringing together what seems like two ends of a spectrum. I like it when a brand showcases its roots while at the same time going beyond the box. Tommy Hilfiger knows how to have fun, and he showcases this with this latest collection, which is now available at Saks. My sister Natalie and I had the chance to parter with the brand to style up some looks for you guys. This one here I have on here is in particular my favorite. The plaid puffer plays down the details of the sequined midi dress, while the creepers did an awesome job at giving the look some angsty attitude. A mishmash of personalities feels so right because what’s the point of making up your mind on one thing when you can have them all? I hope you enjoy this styling session. Look forward to much more from Team Suarez. I won’t be updating here for a few days because I’m getting my vision corrected with LASEK today, so I won’t be opening my eyes for a few days until they heal. Super excited for the results though, and to get back to you all with new content and words just in time for the holidays.
