Summer in the Winter

March 6, 2011

Skirt – STORETS, Tank – 5 Preview, Belt – vintage from CALICO, Shoes – Zara, Bag – Melie Bianco

The sun was beaming and the air was perfectly warm on Saturday. It felt like summer, so I decided to dress like it was summer. It was a super fabulous day. Days like this are what I love most about Southern California. Makes me wonder if I can ever really leave this place. I originally wanted to wear a bright color on top, but after realizing that I really did not have any suitable tops in a bright neon shade (must go shopping again soon), I decided to wear a pop of color on my feet instead. Gives off the same effect, no?

Bad Hair Day Transformed

March 4, 2011
What’s a girl to do when she’s in a rush, her hair ain’t looking too rad, and she has no bright ideas on what to do with it? Why throw on some sort of chic head topper, of course! I love the look of a bohemian-inspired turban, yet it has always been hard for me to find one that I think actually looks good on me. Thankfully, my WWDMAGIC swag bag came with two turbans made by Venius. And let me tell ya, these babies are genius! They work magic on my head. Flat hair? See ya lataaaa. I am officially obsessed with this wonderment for the cranium and must get my hands on more! What do you think?

Hot Hot Pink

Pink Pants – Forever 21, Jacket – True Religion, Shirt – H&M, Sequin Flats- Stuart Weitzman, Bag – French Connection
Even though we have a few weeks until spring officially arrives, it doesn’t mean that I cannot dress like it is already here. Bright colors with a tropical flavor have been on my mind a lot recently. My winter vacation in Bali last year must have really rubbed off on me. Now if only I could jump into a warm ocean and get massages on the beach, I’ll be all set. The weather has been beautiful these past few days, and I want to dress to reflect my mood, which is bright and happy. No color gives more of a kick than hot pink. It always puts a smile on my face. My spring is going to be more about colors. You can call me Rainbow Bright from now on. I don’t mind.

Coral Sea

February 28, 2011

Blazer and Skirt – H&M, Blouse – Storets, Necklace – Forever 21, Boots – vintage
A look made up of my top wardrobe essentials: a lightweight blazer, a full-length maxi skirt, a soft chiffon blouse, ankle boots, and a statement necklace. Put them all together and you have an effortless look that’s fool-proof, as well as extremely comfortable (an added bonus). It takes me through the weekend with ease. I’ve been slowly falling in love with the color coral. It’s an upgrade from my winter obsession with rusty orange. Now it looks like teal blue is another color making its way into my life. Color, color, color. It’s what has me most excited for spring! The weather has been drab the whole weekend, and wearing color just makes things feel and look so much better! Oh, and how many of you watched the Oscars yesterday? I have such a crush on Colin Firth because he is gorgeous, kind, and oh so talented. I’m so happy he won! I feel the same way about Natalie Portman. She is and always will be one of my favorite actresses of all time!
