Sunday Inspiration

January 16, 2011
It has been a long and busy week, full of work and more work. I couldn’t be happier that another lazy Sunday is here. And what better way to celebrate than with a little inspiration to lift the mood? We have been having beautiful weather lately in SoCal, full of beaming sunshine and warm breezes. It’s as if winter ran away and spring has sneaked up on us early. So I thought that I would share with you all some images that make me feel warm and fuzzy inside, like a good cup of coffee, a page-turning book under the covers, or an endless roam on a beach during summer.
This outfit just screams spring in all its pretty color glory. Can I have that hat please?

Who knew powdery soft pastels and loud leopard printed booties could be such good friends?
Pretty In Pink. This will always be one of my favorite 80’s movies, as well as one of my greatest fashion inspirations. Molly, I heart you!
I will always have a soft spot for lace every season, but I love it the most during springtime. I like it worn with tough elements, like a pair of boyish boots.
All I can say is that I really dig this model’s hair. Why can’t more guys sport this, too, and look this good?
Reminds me, I should wear my hair in a bun more often. It’s refreshing to get the hair off your back so that you face the day with a bright, unhindered eyes.
Horses running wild. How about we model ourselves after these strong and mighty creatures this new year? We have places to go and explore, and no time to hold ourselves back.
Childhood friendships. You never forget them.
I don’t have a trench coat, but I think that this would be the perfect one for me. Classic and edgy at the same time.
I need more black jewelry in my life. I’d stack them on like this girl with shots of gold and a big old ring to top it off.
Devon Aoki. My favorite Hapa model. Who doesn’t love that baby doll face?
If only I could feel as confident as this naked on a beach with only a straw hat to hide behind.
2011. The continuation of the never ending search for THE rocker tee.
Maxi skirts are always on my mind and I’m always collecting them. One in this peachy keen color would make a fantastic addition to my wardrobe.
A fluid sunburst always makes me smile and think lovely thoughts.
Don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself. It’s not that hard and it feels really great. A good sense of humor is a remedy for everything.

Rusty Cords

Yesterday I had a long but fabulous day supporting my sister Natalie and my blogger friend Jules at a video shoot, along with Jade Munson. It was so much fun, and the weather was so warm! This weekend is supposed to be in the high 70’s, which is fine by me! But here is an outfit from earlier this week, taken on a gloomy and quite chilly day. I’ve been gravitating towards orangey-rust tones a lot this season, so I just had to get my hands on this pair of corduroys from J. Crew. I love cuffing them to show off my favorite shoes! And thanks 80’s Purple for all the sunglasses! Because of you, I am now rediscovering my love for retro-style oversized shades.

Speaking of all things retro, I got super duper lucky last weekend while vintage/thrift shopping, as well as during a quick 5 minute shopping spree on Tuesday. I cannot wait to show you my finds! I’m talking knits galore, Christian Dior, and an out-of-this-world Gucci piece that I’m still pinching myself over. Hopefully today I will be able to hit up a few more thrift stores and add a more exciting pieces to my wardrobe. Other than this, the rest of my weekend will be following no certain plan, but I hope to catch up on some work, read some Jodi Picoult, and soak up the sun as much as I can before it decides to hide again!

Hey lovelies! I thought it would be fun to do a little Question & Answer here on the blog! I’ve had Nana in Wonderland for over a year now, but I’ve never done one of these. And I know a lot of you have been wanting me to do this for a while. So now is your chance to get to know me a little bit better. Ask me everything and anything in the comment section of this post, and I will answer all your questions in a future post! Ask me anything fashion-related, school-related, work-related, hobby-related, etc., etc., whatever floats your boat. I am interested to see what you are curious about 🙂 So let the questioning begin!
