Neutral Pudding

October 13, 2010
Some new neutral-toned pieces just in time for autumn. The Ralph Lauren Victorian silk blouse and Marc Jacobs ruffle knit top were my latest Crossroads Trading Co. finds. The details are heavenly, no? You guys have already seen me wear this beige leather vintage chain purse a few weeks back, but here are a few closeups. It will be hanging from my arm a lot more often this season. And last, but not least, this vintage lace reconstructed wedding dress from Ramona West Vintage is my current obsession. It’s everything I have always wanted in a lace mini. I am going to have fun layering with all these pieces this season.

Elegantly Shredded

October 11, 2010

Skinny Stretch Cargos – Hudson Jeans, Shredded sweater – Storets, Vintage purse – Chanel, Heels – Crossroads Trading Co., Necklace – Forever 21, Bracelet – Seventh Door
So happy that I was finally able to bust out some knitwear this past week, in the form of this artfully silhouetted and shredded sweater. Aren’t its sleeves delightful? I received this sweater way back in the beginning of summer, but of course, it was way too hot to even think about wearing it. But now it is finally time for it to see the light of day. Paired it casually here with my new Hudson skinny stretch cargo jeans. They are so amazing. Who knew cargo pockets could look so good in black? This pair hugs my every curve (and comfortably so) while also make my legs look even longer I think! You’re looking at my new favorite piece of black denim. I also see myself wearing this sweater with a long black maxi skirt, as well. Oh, the possibilities.

Today, however, was not a day meant for heavy knits. The temperature hovered in the low nineties and the sun was out in all its yellow glory. I happily shed my layers and spent the day hiking at Will Rogers State Historic Park, vintage shopping (found a beautiful maxi skirt and dress – you will see them soon!), licking frozen yogurt on the Santa Monica Promenade, strolling around Venice, and eating the most amazing Chinese food. A Sunday cannot get more perfect than this. Now back to another manic Monday!

I will announce who won the Shop Dixi Sheer Ruffle Blouse Giveaway soon after I contact the person first!

Free People October 2011 Catalog

October 9, 2010

If you guys haven’t already seen it, the October 2010 Free People catalog is out! The end result is simply amazing. I photographed my sister Natalie Suarez for a section of the catalog and we both styled it together. Plus, one of our shots made the cover! I am so happy 🙂 Up above are a few of my favorite pictures from the catalog. Head over to a Free People store to pick a catalog up, or check it out online here. I hope you guys like it! There is even a knitted tunic in there named after me I came to find out, and it is definitely an autumn wardrobe essential!

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend! I plan on taking a hike tomorrow and know it’s going to be a beautiful day for it!

Sheer Darkness

October 7, 2010
Sheer Shirt Dress – DKNY, Purse – Jigsaw, Shoes – Via Spiga
I wore this outfit this past Sunday when I went to go watch the 2010 All That Skate LA show at The Staples Center. I grew up watching ice skating on TV, and it was such an amazing experience watching all my favorite ice skaters live and up close. So much fun! Michelle Kwan and recent Olympic gold medalist Yuna Kim from Korea were both there. Two graceful beauties. But my favorites were Johnny Weir and his tribute to Lady Gaga, as well as Swiss-man Stephane Lambiel who had the most personality on the ice as well as extremely good looks! My sister and I literally swooned when he came up close to the audience so we could all see his cute face. He totally stole the show.

Back to the outfit. Kept things simple and clean, which I have been doing a lot lately. All blacks, creams, and lots of sheer monochromatic fabrics for me at the moment. It must be all the gloomy, rainy weather we are having right now that is affecting my minimalistic choice in clothing. I picked up these black leather Via Spiga shoes on sale a few weeks ago at Bloomingdales and they fit right in with all the simple things that I am favoring so much. They are too comfortable for words and I never want to take them off. Double points for matching with everything in my closet. Thank goodness for chic flat shoes like these. A girl cannot live in heels 24/7 (even though I have my eye on two pairs of wedges that I just must have in my closet). I threw on a beige wool cardigan over this dress inside the show because it was pretty chilly (obviously, it was an ice show). Good thing I brought one along because by the time the show was over, the weather did a 360 and it felt like winter outside. But I am so happy that fall is finally here!
