Maceió, Brazil

March 29, 2020

Visual memories from my last time in Brazil, last year. The sunset was perfect. The way the sand felt under my feet was perfect. Every crevice and imperfection on these rocks were perfect. I was already far from home, but on this beach I felt like I was on another planet. I miss traveling, but I know that I won’t be traveling for quite some time as the future is unsound. But I hope that Brazil can be the first place I go after quarantine is over.

Ritz Carlton South Beach

March 20, 2020

This is a photo diary from the most relaxed weekend ever in Miami. Even with the weather mostly cloudy and very windy, the 71 degrees felt extremely therapeutic. Thank you Ritz Carlton South Beach for feeding us some amazing meals, giving us such high quality service, and providing us with the coziest room to binge watch movies and listen to the ocean all night long from. The Art Deco in the hotel was so beautiful, and the little touches here and there in the rooms really made the place feel extra chic without being overdone at all. We stayed within a 3 block radius of the hotel our entire trip, as we came with the intention of being homebodies away from home, and it was fantastic. The day after I got back from this trip, the pandemic was beginning to get into full swing mode in NYC, and things felt like they changed in an instant. Gabi and I almost cancelled this trip because of the all the talk on the news the week beforehand, but it wasn’t as serious yet and so we decided to go. I am grateful that we had this last weekend to spend together someplace away from home. We didn’t do much but enjoy each others company, and amongst all the comforts the Ritz Carlton South Beach provided. We are continuing to enjoy each other’s company here at home, and I feel lucky that I have a man like the one I have to be by my side every single day of this. Everything happening right now is a great reminder that nothing should ever be taken for granted.

El Matador Beach, Malibu

March 19, 2020

Images from my last trip to Los Angeles for the launch of H&M Studio Collection S/S20. It was the most deliciously perfect day to be by the beach. And El Matador Beach is one of my favorites. Me running barefoot on a beach is such a far cry from the state of the world right now. I won’t be going near any beaches for the time being, and I’m surprised to hear that there are still packed beaches around the world. People, please keep yourself informed and be smart with your decisions. Self-Quarantine and staying away from large groups is what we all should be doing right now. The closest I will get to a beach right now is looking at these photos and reminiscing the days before everything changed and we were faced with a really huge reality check. I have an even greater appreciation for our earth right now, for the issues the world is facing today stem directly from our human actions against nature. So going forward, we have a lot to think about and a lot to change about our actions and the level of greed in our world. Everything we do directly affects the cycle of the world around us. We started this and we need to stop this. Think about it.
