I’ve been in a yellow mellow mood these days; it’s as if June gloom has come early. I always talk about having a soft spot for gray days at the beach. When the sun hides behind clouds that are bursting with rain. Even without that warmth, there is still a lot of promise. It’s a different sort of song. A different sort of beauty. A different sort of side to ourselves we need to embrace more.

Ciao Lucia in Chinatown on Film

I’ve been finding myself in Chinatown a lot recently. For mochi donuts at Alimama Tea. For a restock of chili oil at New Kam Man Supermarket. For matcha cheesecake at Fay Da Bakery. And of course, my favorite gem . . . Renew Day Spa on Bowery for a legit massage. A lot of the times, I just like to walk around in between appointments to look at storefronts and to find a new place for rice noodles.
