In the mood for NOODS. I love aimless meanders throughout our city that ends with finding a really great restaurant that we become regulars at. I think food may be my absolute favorite thing to photograph. I’m an absolute noodle girl at heart, thanks to my Asian roots. This bowl of soba noodles is from Soba Noodle Azuma on 55th Street and it is fantastic. The perfect thing on a chilly windy day, which we will for sure have many more of soon.
I love a soft focus, nearly out of focus photo. Sometimes it’s nice to see myself through a blurry lens, so the focus is less on me and and more on the feeling of the entirety of a photo. Sometimes this app feels like it’s constantly pressuring us to look our best, feel our best, be our best 24/7 in clear, high definition. How unrealistic. Somedays, it’s more okay to be soft, slightly out of focus, grainy, blending in with our environment, relieved of any pressure.
This cozy pink room at the @riggshotel is one of my favorite hotel rooms ever. We had just two short days in Washington, DC, but they sure were memorable. The last trip we took was Boston. Staying put in NYC except for a trip upstate that we still need to plan. But it feels good to stay put for a bit.
