Maceió, Brazil

March 29, 2020

Visual memories from my last time in Brazil, last year. The sunset was perfect. The way the sand felt under my feet was perfect. Every crevice and imperfection on these rocks were perfect. I was already far from home, but on this beach I felt like I was on another planet. I miss traveling, but I know that I won’t be traveling for quite some time as the future is unsound. But I hope that Brazil can be the first place I go after quarantine is over.

Under Construction

March 29, 2020

Rag & Bone blazer, boots, and bag

NYC is always under construction, and I find myself inspired by its ability to be forever changing. These awnings that go up and down throughout the city give these streets the ruggedness that makes them so unique. The Rag & Bone Jet boot and Riser bag that I am wearing are an established part of my city wardrobe, just like the perpetual under construction signs of my city. It’s been a while since I’ve been under this awning, but I won’t forget the way the light hit me from under it on this particular day.

Brighter Days Ahead

Another vintage blazer. Another colorful look. You can’t stop me when there’s a pair of bright tights and a backdrop to pose in front of. This Coach bag actually inspired me to bring the rainbow to the navy blue tones of the dress and blazer together. I’ve been on fire when hit comes to styling looks these days. Too bad I can’t leave home in them. That day will come though, and I think we are all going to go into it feeling re-inspired. Not just with fashion, but with an entire outlook. The day will come when there are only brighter days ahead.

Home Refresh During Quarantine

March 29, 2020

We are just starting week 4 of self-quarantine. These days have been a blur. While the future is unknown, the only thing to do is focus on the present, and to me, my home encompasses so much of that.

No matter what, my home will be the place where I should always be able to find retreat in. These past few weeks, I have been working on changing little things here and there, organizing and rearranging, getting rid of what doesn’t make me happy, and making my home give me the same feeling as escaping to a faraway island does. And with all the time in lockdown, I have no choice but to put my energy into the space that continuously surrounds me throughout these days. It is what is keeping me same. A therapy of sorts. I feel like a lot of you guys are in the same boat as me. If we are going to ride out this virus together, we might as well make the place we ride it out in a sacred place for us to bring to life our passions, whatever they may be. For me, home has to feel like the ultimate creative space. And for creativity to flow, I feel like I need open space. My place isn’t tiny, but it also isn’t huge, so I rearranged some things to make a more open feel in the living room area and it has been giving me so much joy and positive energy. It has made all the difference. Here are some images taken in the past two weeks. I linked where I got some of the main pieces, like my marble coffee table from Rove Concepts or my marble dining table from Six Penny. I’m thinking about getting a new couch since I’ve had this one for quite some time. I was thinking maybe an emerald green or a sapphire blue? Can’t make up my mind. This sunshine yellow has been so comforting these past few years, its hard to let go of it. But change is always nice.
