Maceió, Brazil

March 29, 2020

Visual memories from my last time in Brazil, last year. The sunset was perfect. The way the sand felt under my feet was perfect. Every crevice and imperfection on these rocks were perfect. I was already far from home, but on this beach I felt like I was on another planet. I miss traveling, but I know that I won’t be traveling for quite some time as the future is unsound. But I hope that Brazil can be the first place I go after quarantine is over.

Ritz Carlton South Beach

March 20, 2020

This is a photo diary from the most relaxed weekend ever in Miami. Even with the weather mostly cloudy and very windy, the 71 degrees felt extremely therapeutic. Thank you Ritz Carlton South Beach for feeding us some amazing meals, giving us such high quality service, and providing us with the coziest room to binge watch movies and listen to the ocean all night long from. The Art Deco in the hotel was so beautiful, and the little touches here and there in the rooms really made the place feel extra chic without being overdone at all. We stayed within a 3 block radius of the hotel our entire trip, as we came with the intention of being homebodies away from home, and it was fantastic. The day after I got back from this trip, the pandemic was beginning to get into full swing mode in NYC, and things felt like they changed in an instant. Gabi and I almost cancelled this trip because of the all the talk on the news the week beforehand, but it wasn’t as serious yet and so we decided to go. I am grateful that we had this last weekend to spend together someplace away from home. We didn’t do much but enjoy each others company, and amongst all the comforts the Ritz Carlton South Beach provided. We are continuing to enjoy each other’s company here at home, and I feel lucky that I have a man like the one I have to be by my side every single day of this. Everything happening right now is a great reminder that nothing should ever be taken for granted.

St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship

January 10, 2020

I have partnered with The St. Regis to bring you this travel diary about my stay at The St. Regis Aspen for World Snow Polo Championship.

What a way to spend the week before Christmas! This trip marks my second time visiting Aspen, and it truly was something very special. The event of the season in Aspen is the World Snow Polo Championship, which The St. Regis is one of the sponsors of. In-between getting to watch the polo match, exploring the town of Aspen in seek of the best vintage stores, and taking the gondola up to the top of the slopes (just for the view, not to actually ski), The St. Regis Aspen was the most amazing place to unwind. Our warm and cozy room with a view of the mountain landscape, dips in the hot tub at the spa, a nice and long dinner at the end of a strenuously cold day. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience of hospitality I have to say.

Growing up, my sister and I weren’t very fond of cold weather destinations as a vacation. We were used to the desert and the beach, but now being east coasters, and getting used to the cold, coming to places where the cold is enjoyed in so many ways sounds very exciting to us. It feels new and fresh. And there are so many ways these types of environments inspire us creatively, too. The nature. The snow. The blinding blue light the top of the mountain. Après ski and the smell of mulled wine. It inspires the way we get to dress, and the activities we find ourselves doing. There is so much wellness to be found in a mountain town, as well. From the exercise and the ritualistic spa afternoons. Aspen is a place that is both exhilarating and totally low key at the same time. And I have come to love it! Staying at The St. Regis Aspen of course made this very easy to do!

And of course, experiencing our very first snow polo was so much fun! We loved watching the beautiful horses on the match grounds as the sun set behind the mountains, and learning about the history of the sport and how this event brings so many people together from different places. It’s a unique social event that I’d love to attend again. Aspen, this will not be my last time visiting you, thats for sure!
