The Roxy Hotel Staycation

February 13, 2022

Sweet moments during our winter staycation at The Roxy Hotel. After weeks of mostly staying at home during the holidays, it felt nice to get out of the house for a few days for a fresh change of environment. We had an amazing view of Tribeca from our suite and the most stunning natural light spilling in. Full of space and light, we felt very much at home here in a neighborhood of Manhattan that is so special and right in the middle of it all. For dinner we headed down to the bar for a delicious burger and zucchini pasta to share as a live jazz piano player kept us entertained. We also had the pleasure of attending a late night showing of 1970’s cult Japanese film School of the Holy Beast at Roxy Cinema Tribeca in the hotel. This old school cinema is such an iconic space that we couldn’t help but get in before the show to shoot some images. The cinema is now going to be my go-to for art house films … the ultimate inspiration night. Thank you The Roxy Hotel for having us 🙂

SEDONA, ARIZONA

January 22, 2022

Sedona, Arizona, September 2021

I don’t think many things compare to the outline of mountains in the distance during sundown. Art created by Mother Nature. I like to call it a purposeful accident. Every soft curve. Every sharp crevice. The differences in shading and tone. The feeling of being light years away but at reach all at the same time. It gives me such a good feeling to know this exists for us all to see and find a way to be one with.

I felt so lucky to have woken up next to my love and surrounded by nature on my birthday last year. Still crazy to think this was all last year. I’m not one to care about doing something extra for my birthday, but this trip was one for the books; so stand out in every way. This week really kept me in the present. It solidified my appreciation for each moment for what it is. Just feeling that connection with rough dirt beneath my feet with every climb sums up what I came here for. And I laughed so many deep laughs this week. Getting older, wiser, more free and more grateful each day.
